The Sustainable Coffee Partnership (SCP) was established in 2003 as a multi-stakeholder partnership aimed at developing global strategies for the promotion of a sustainable coffee sector. The Steering Committee for the SCP provides in-kind support towards the identification of priority areas and opportunities for collaboration in global coffee markets.

Since its inception the SCP has provided a wide range of input to delegates of the ICO, as well as other related stakeholders, including a series of documents related to the development and implementation of the 2007 International Coffee Agreement.
The SCP has adopted the following basic principles as a starting point in its efforts to build a global strategy for sustainability in the coffee sector:
By bringing together producers, industry, civil society and public policy-makers, the partnership aims to provide a unique opportunity for enabling multi-stakeholder strategic planning and cooperation towards enhanced sustainability of the sector.
